Why is it important?
Proper bra fit and breast support can:

- increase confidence and participation
- reduce pain and discomfort
- reduce the risk of injury.

”No female would play sport without a bra!
Yet, so little attention is paid to this sporting equipment.”

What you need to know.
Key information about choosing and using a sports bra.
DESIGN✽ Bras should have wide, strong elastic bands and provide full breast coverage. ✽ Different designs (crop top, hybrid, encapsulation) cater for various needs adn preferences. |
FIT✽ Ensure the bra fits correctly, covering all breast tissue, feeling snug but comfortable. ✽ Check fit regularly as bras wear out and personal needs change over time. |
SUPPORT✽ Breast size*, athlete age, and type of activity affects requirements. ✽ A high-support bra minimises breast movement and pain, enhancing comfort and performance. |
*Wearing two bras for larger breasts (DD+) can improve comfort, especially where the sport involves running, jumping and forceful arm movements.
